About Me

My name’s Jan Disley and I’m a journalist and writer with 30 years’ experience in newspapers, more than 20 of them with the national press.

As a staff reporter on The Daily Mirror I’ve covered some of Britain’s biggest news stories: The Dunblane tragedy, The Harold Shipman trial , the death and funeral of Princess Diana, the Rhys Jones murder….

I’ve interviewed celebrities as diverse as Paul Nicholas, Billie Piper and Rachael Flintoff – oh and I once “kidnapped” Norman Wisdom.

In 2008 I set up my own company and now write for many national titles including The Daily Express, The Daily Mail, The Daily Mirror, The Sunday Mirror and The Mail on Sunday. I’m also a prolific travel journalist and an accomplished copywriter and recently compiled a quarterly alumni magazine for The Northern College of Music.

In 2009 I co-wrote a book ‘Jackson Unveiled’ (Haynes) the ‘definitive’ story of the life and death of Michael Jackson.

I have been a guest lecturer at Salford University and have run a variety of media training courses, working with The Manchester Airport Group , PR giant Burson-Marsteller, and The Health and Safety Executive.
